Wellplast® performs at its best in applications where high demands are set on the package. Such are packages for moist conditions, fragile products, long distance freights or where hygiene is an issue. The characteristics, flexibility and design freedom of Wellplast® have led to continuous innovation in new areas of use.

The most important ingredient of Wellplast® is the natural mineral Calcium Carbonate, commonly known as chalk or limestone. The same material is found in coral and eggshells and is commonly used as a food additive. As a binder, polypropylene or polyethylene is used. This material composition gives Wellplast® many of its physical characteristics. Furthermore, Wellplast® is approved for direct food contact.

To convert Wellplast® sheets into ready-to-use packages they are cut, creased, printed, raised and sealed. All this is done in standard converting and erecting machines used for corrugated cardboard or solid carton.
